Savannah Clark Guthrie (born December 27, 1971) [1] is an Australian-born American broadcast journalist and former attorney. She is a main co-anchor of the NBC News morning show Today, a position she has held since July 2012.
She joined the staff of the network's Today show in the early 1960s as a writer and segment producer of women's-interest stories. Her popularity with viewers led to her receiving more airtime, and in 1974 she became co-host of the program, the first woman to hold such a position on an American news program.
In June 2012, she became the national and international correspondent-anchor for NBC News and the anchor at large for the Today show. She was co-anchor of Today from June 9, 2011, to June 28, 2012, and the program's news anchor from March 1997 until becoming co-anchor.
